Powerhouse Fund Seeks Runners

Local grant-giving organisation, The Didcot Powerhouse Fund has put a call out for runners to fill charity places for them at the Oxford Half Marathon on Sunday 15th October. They are also seeking volunteers to support the runners on the day.

The Didcot Powerhouse Fund is a grant-giving body for the local Didcot area and to date has given grants totalling almost £176k in just 2 years, to 19 smaller community and volunteer led organisations that sometimes miss out on other charity grants. The fund is supported by Didcot First and administered by Oxfordshire Community Foundation.

Grants have funded projects spanning education, health, wellbeing, mental health, family support and tackling issues ranging from period poverty to baby development, suicide prevention to bringing people together to combat loneliness, cost of living or health related challenges.

Community fundraising is vital if Powerhouse is to be able to increase the grant pot in 2024, to fuel better futures in Didcot and the surrounding area.
