Our everyday life nowadays relies heavily on data we get from satellites orbiting above us. There are in fact over 30,000 objects orbiting Earth, but only a fraction of them is still operational. The rest? Dangerous debris floating around, bringing the risk (and reality!) of in-space collisions to an all-time high. Zoe will talk about the highly innovative ELSA-M mission attempting to perform the world’s first capture and removal of a non-operational satellite from space.
Zoe works for Astroscale Ltd, a company specialised in space sustainabliity via safe and sustainable development of space and on-orbit servicing.
