Dr Valerie Jamieson – Fusion energy: closer than you think
Fusion promises to be a safe, low carbon and sustainable part of the world’s future energy supply. But isn’t that a promise we’ve heard before? In this talk, Valerie Jamieson explores the world of fusion energy, revealing the rapid progress that’s been made in the past year, the start-up companies changing fusion’s fortunes, and the crucial role that Oxfordshire is playing in transforming the world’s energy system.
Dr Valerie Jamieson works at the UK Atomic Energy Authority where she manages The Fusion Cluster. Before joining UKAEA, she worked for many years at New Scientist and has a PhD in particle physics.
